چکیده

Chemical constituents and biological activities of the Mitrella kentii leaf oil were investigated in this study. Gas chromatography (GC) gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) used to determine chemical oil. The was evaluated for its ability inhibit prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) thromboxane B2 (TXB2) productions human whole blood using a radioimmunoassay technique. Its inhibitory effect on platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor binding with rabbit platelets 3H-PAF as ligand free radical scavenging DPPH also investigated. Caryophyllene oxide (33.8%), E,Z-farnesol (6.9%), benzyl benzoate (6.5%) viridiflorol among major components Even though weak observed both PGE2 TXB2 assays, significant results obtained PAF inhibition 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) IC50 value 6.6 µg/mL 155.6 respectively. These promising warrant development an anti-inflammatory agent.
